‘Bessie Ellen’ reminds me of the 36ft gaff ketch which I restored and sailed all too briefly before I ran out of ‘resources’ and she had to go to a new skipper. I miss her dearly, but I am now too old to try again.

As unfortunate as the situation was, it was fascinating to witness and we're glad to have documented this process, which ordinarily would happen very rarely in a ship's lifetime. A magnificent video. But is it really about Lewis and Harris? Or is it about ... drivers and cars? Car ferries, roads, vans, scenic drives, stop off places, viewpoints, car parks, lovely beaches that are only accessible by "your vehicle" ... it's all ... cars cars cars.
